Your first year as a faculty member is a whirlwind. The summer before is moving and getting settled and prepping all these new courses, the fall you're prepping and prepping and teaching, and the winter's more new preps, and all of a sudden the year is over and you have no research and a massive stress headache. This program is designed to support a small cohort of up to 8 participants through the transitional summer and first term of their professorial career. In a supportive, confidential environment, we'll tackle key challenges faced by new faculty: designing and prepping courses, managing the workload, planning and maintaining a research pipeline, grading, time management, and more. The FYFC's summer component is a two-pronged combination of weekly 60-min group coaching sessions on Tuesdays and a private session of the Syllabus Workshop on Thursdays just for FYFC participants. Fall brings a weekly 45 min coaching session and 2 hours of 1:1 coaching with Leanne to be used in the first year. As a bonus, participants get $50 off the Winter session of the Book Incubator. Institutional funds can be used to pay the fee; register below with "Pay in Person" to choose this option. Registration commits you to both terms and the full fee.
